From fear to voice through emotion, identity and action
We would like to thank everyone who attended the talk “Emotions in Language Acquisition” given by Ángela Donate Velasco, PhD (University of Oviedo, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters).
As a lecturer in the Department of English, French and German Philology, she shared valuable insights into the role of affective factors in language learning. Her session explored how emotions such as motivation, anxiety, confidence, and well-being influence the process of acquiring a new language, highlighting the importance of creating supportive and emotionally aware learning environments.
We are grateful for the opportunity to reflect together on the human side of language education and for the active participation of all those who joined us.
Thank you for being part of this enriching experience.
